AESTHETICS

29th June, 2017

Aesthetics is a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of art, beauty, and artistic taste. The World aesthetic is derived from the Greek (aisthetikos, meaning “esthetic, sensitive, sentient”) image that are pleasing to the eyes are considered to be higher in terms of their aesthetic beauty. In the world of art and photography, aesthetic refers to the nature and appreciation of beauty. Judging beauty and other aesthetic qualities of photographs is a highly subjective task. There are various ways in which aesthetic is defined by different people. Images that are pleasing to the eyes are considered to be higher in terms of their aesthetic beauty.
An individual may simply be interested in judging how soothing a picture is to be the eyes while a photographic artist may be looking at the composition of the picture, the use of color and light, and any additional meaning conveyed by the picture. A professional photographer, on the other hand, may be wondering how difficult it may have been to take or to process a particular shot, the sharpness and the color contrast of the picture, or whether the “rule of thirds” in photography have been maintained. All these issue make the measurement of aesthetics in picture or photographs extremely subjective.
If we compare the above picture, we can see that picture: 2 is aesthetically more sound than picture 1 , with proper composition of the picture, perfect timing of capturing the image and perfect lighting on the subject. All these components have added more beauty to this picture. In picture: 1 although the subject is clear but there is lots of other elements that distract the observer from the subject.
